Michael Kahlil Pleasants Car Accident: In loving memory of U.S. Navy service member killed in a 2021 crash near the U.S.-Mexico border.

The Medical Examiner reported that a U.S. Navy service man who was on active duty died in a rollover accident close to the border with Mexico.

The California Highway Patrol reported that at around 2 a.m. on Sunday, May 23, 2021, Michael Kahlil Pleasants, 27, was operating a Mustang southbound on Interstate 5 towards the border when his car lost control and struck a concrete divider.

The vehicle, which was travelling too fast, veered off the road and came to rest on its roof, according to CHP.

Pleasants was pronounced dead at the scene after sustaining blunt force injuries to his head, neck, and chest.

Pleasants was alone in his car at the time of the collision, according to CHP, and no other vehicles were engaged.
